A devastating Bronx blaze that is known today as one of the deadliest residential fires in our history.  The fire started at around 11:00 p.m. in the basement of this single-family residence and the officials deemed the cause as electrical, from the cord of a space heater.   Residents on the top three floors of the building were trapped by the fast-moving flames and the inferno claimed the lives of nine children and a mother.  T.J. Russo Consultants were retained by the insurance company for the building, to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.  We dispatched a team of investigators to the site and worked alongside the FDNY Bureau of Fire Investigation, to assess responsibility.
