ST. SAVA SERBIAN CATHEDRAL
MANHATTAN, NY
Landmark Destroyed
The Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sava, a New York Landmark built in 1851, was destroyed in a massive fire after more than 700 parishioners celebrated Easter. Officials were initially concerned that the Manhattan blaze and three others around the world may have been connected and the incident prompted federal oversight of the Authorities Investigation. T.J. Russo Consultants was retained on behalf of the insurance company for St. Sava and dispatched a team of investigators over a period of several weeks to sift through the massive debris field and secure hundreds of artifacts as physical evidence.
