EAST HARLEM GAS EXPLOSION

8 Fatalities 70 Injuries
The 2014 East Harlem Gas Explosion occurred at about 9:30 a.m., after several calls were made to the local utility, for an odor of gas. The blast was felt for miles and leveled two apartment buildings, killing eight and injuring 70. Had the explosion occurred a few hours earlier, 100s of people would have lost their lives. T.J. Russo Consultants was retained on behalf of one of the buildings destroyed in the incident to investigate the origin, cause and responsible parties for the explosion.
